Destiny can't be herself. She's part of a new group chat and struggles to keep up her facade. She cannot be herself if she wants to keep them from hating her.
I was projecting a whole lot on the main character. I also wrote this in a short period of time and it's not beta-ed, so it's horrible. But I just needed to get this out before I combusted.
Please read this knowing I do not support any of these actions, I just needed to do this for my own personal reasons. The character reflects me in a very emotional sense, as there isn't a single thought written in this work that I haven't thought. This work is basically a reflection of how my morning went, give or take a few scenes.

Summary
It's been 20 years since the super-eruption that turned nearly half of Earth into a wasteland. After Yellowstone, world leaders came together in hopes of protecting their species. Their final decision was to create five domes spread around the world. What was left of humanity and the animals were gathered and taken into the domes.
Now it's 3497 and they're no closer to fixing their planet, food sustenance is running out and there're more homeless now than ever. But on the bright side, they've created the technology for space travel further than Pluto and the Kuiper Belt.
A team of professionals and four unqualified idiots are chosen to find a suitable planet habitable for humans.
For once everyone on Earth has the same opinion.
Lord have mercy on them if their leaders are suddenly putting their faith in four people who have never been in space. -

Summary
When Mac wakes up, he notices that he's in a cell. All the walls are white, and the ceiling is covered in painfully bright fluorescent lights. The rest of the room is disturbingly bare. There’s a toilet with a few rolls of toilet paper.
This eerily reminds him of his last manniversary with Jack. Griggs had kidnapped Jack and him, and tortured them for days. Mac pushes the memory aside and desperately wishes that this isn’t a solo repeat.
Suddenly a deafening noise starts playing. The noise sears through his head, and hurts his brain. Mac curls up into a ball, hands pressed at tight as he can against his ears.
After what feels like hours, the noise abruptly stops. Eventually he uncurls from his ball and sits up. There’s a drop of blood on his hand, presumably from his ear, but right now that’s the least of his problems.
Whoever is holding him captive doesn’t want him to sleep. They’re not making demands, and considering the fact that they didn’t leave any food for Mac, they don’t expect him to survive long.
(Don't worry, Mac doesn't die).

Summary
“Hmm… he does look a bit familiar, but I think I’ll need a little something to jog my memory.”
“What do you want, Murdoc?” MacGyver asks. “You have supervised calls with Cassian and we can’t risk giving you any items. We both remember how that ended last time.”
Murdoc grins. “My, my boy-scout, you’ve been keeping tabs on me? I’m flattered!”
MacGyver snorts, amused. “Of course, I got you here. Why wouldn’t I pay attention?”
Murdoc likes seeing this side of MacGyver, the side that likes to analyse and indulge and play. It's almost as enjoyable as the side that only comes out when he’s locked in Murdoc’s torture room.
Suddenly someone new walks into the room.
Murdoc goes to issue a greeting, but the way MacGyver reacts stops the words in his throat. MacGyver is no longer smiling. His expression closes off and he seems to curl into himself.
The woman approaches MacGyver and he immediately shrinks away. Her face is etched in... betrayal? She slams her hand against the glass and snarls. “Just tell us what we need to know, freak.”
MacGyver flinches.
Murdoc sees red.

Summary
This started as a MacDesi break up and then morphed into Mac getting kidnapped and working for Codex to get Jack back (alive).
~Codex kidnaps Mac. They show him a video of Jack, with a newspaper from two days ago.
Jack was pronounced dead months ago.
Mac desperately wants to believe it, that they managed to fake Jack's death and are holding him as leverage for Mac.
But he's scared to hope. He knows that Codex is composed of the best. To recreate a video like this - it’s well within Codex’s capacities.
They tell him the deal: they tell him to jump, he asks how far. He tries to contact anyone, Jack dies. He tries to foil their plans, Jack dies. He tries to escape, Jac dies. He does anything other than what Codex tells him to do, Jack dies.
Mac wants to scream and cry. This is his breaking point. If Mac lets himself hope - even for a second - that there’s a slim, microscopic possibility that Jack is still alive when he isn’t? Mac knows he’ll break.
The thing is, the fact that Mac is still listening to Codex shows that he has already let himself hope in the possibility.
Judging by the triumphant looks on Codex’s faces, they know it.
