    Summary

The marriage is supposed to be a punishment, a way to extend Wei Wuxian’s isolation. After all, Wangji has met the man (when they had both been boys, untouched by war); Wei Wuxian could hardly be asked to fit seamlessly into the regimented life of a Lan.

Yu Ziyuan is a formidable, cruel woman, Wangji decides then. She is also wrong if she thinks Wangji will play part in her cruelty.

(And Wei Wuxian, it seems, is so much more than meets the eye).

    Summary

Lan Wangji woke up in the Jingshi. This in itself, of course, did not raise any alarm bells in his head. That was, until he remembered that he had not fallen asleep in the Jingshi. That he was not even supposed to be in Gusu.

The second thing he noticed was that he was warm. Warmer than usual, with a weight at his side, an arm slung over his chest and soft breaths tickling his neck. He looked down, and the alarm turned to downright panic when he recognized the profile of the face snuggled against his shoulder. The shape of the cheekbones, the eyelashes fluttering gently in sleep.

Eighteen-year-old Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian go on a night-hunt for a time-travelling ghost and find themselves thirteen years in the future, married with a son.

Me encantó. Aunque LW es un poquito en demasía negativo frente a sus posibilidades. Ah! Pero estuvo interesante y adiviné el meollo del asunto.

Wei Wuxian hadn’t given much thought to marriage, but he wants to prove his skill at the top of the field amongst his cultivation peers, and he’s always wanted to secure a place in Lan Wangji’s attentions anyhow.

They’ve gone their separate ways each thinking the other wanted nothing to do with him, but the tournament brings about an opportunity to prove there may be something more…

    Summary

Wei Wuxian dies at twenty-two and doesn’t come back. Lan Wangji dies in an “unfortunate accident” in a temple in Yunping at thirty-seven. The world moves on.

Thousands of years later, Wei Ying and Lan Zhan have a senior thesis in cultivation to co-write on the Yiling Patriarch. It doesn’t go exactly how they were expecting.
    -
“I still do not understand why you were able to read the journal in the first place,” Lan Zhan says.

Wei Ying grins. “You’ll laugh,” he says. He won’t, of course. Lan Zhan doesn’t laugh. But maybe he can swing a smile. “It’s because of the name thing. He wrote his name into the scrambling talisman. So it says that no one can undo the lock but Wei Ying.” He hooks a thumb at himself.

Everyone’s always said his name is unlucky. This is the first time it’s worked out in his favor. It’s not a coincidence either; apparently his mother thought it would be funny. Mrs. Yu had told him that with a curl in her lip, as if it didn’t make him wish he knew his parents even more.
