"I don't know?" Alec turned to look up at Magnus, questioning.
"He can't answer you right now," Magnus explained grimly. "Somebody just wiped his mind. There's... there's nothing left." His breath hitched and he closed his eyes.

Magnus was having mixed feelings about this job. On the one hand, it was for the Shadowhunters, which he hated. On the other hand, they would pay him well. Taking money from the Clave was always nice. And it should be simple enough, tracking a missing child. He had a soft spot for children, even Shadowhunter ones.
As he walked into the building, he could never have guessed that within half an hour he would be full of rage and despair, ready to kill them all.

Summary
Enjolras and Grantaire have a slightly fucked up mutually obsessive relationship, but they have a system that works. Or, the established-relationship domestic fluff verse with a great deal of past angst and fuckedupness of various kinds, which was supposed to be merely a short ficlet and is now decidedly not, and shall continue to be updated sequentially with more fluff than angst, but definitely a great deal of both in and around their careful, hard won balancing act of domesticness.

Mobei-jun had learned the hard way that demonic custom and Shang Qinghua didn’t mix well, at least in the traditional courting sense. So he changed his tactics, instead demonstrating his physical prowess and ability to provide for Shang Qinghua’s needs.
Apparently, the one need he does not have the experience to meet is the need for comfort. So as he observes Shang Qinghua in real, unrestrained pain for once, Mobei-jun has never felt quite this helpless.
Or: following Shen Qingqiu’s death in a bandit attack, Mobei-jun tries his best to take care of a grieving Shang Qinghua.
