    Momo is awesome!
I once thought he was dinner,
    but now he’s my friend.

Izumi gasped loudly when Sokka finished his haiku. She pulled a startled Momo back under the blankets defensively and said, accusingly, “You were gonna eat Momo?”

“Only because I was really hungry,” said Sokka.

“Then starve,” Izumi said seriously. She pulled Druk out of the blankets. “Would you eat Druk?”

“Of course not! He eats me! Here, listen to this:
    Druk is a baby,
and yet wow he sure can bite.
    My toes are not snacks.

“Druk doesn’t bite!” Zuko defended the tiny dragon. Sokka looked pointedly at Zuko’s hands, which were covered in tiny bite marks. Zuko crossed his arms to hide his hands, but Druk decided his crossed arms would make a good sleeping spot and wiggled away from Izumi to lay in Zuko’s arms. As soon as he laid down, he nudged Zuko’s arm up and started nibbling on Zuko’s thumb.

Or: Suki tells Zuko she's proposing to Sokka, Sokka tells Zuko he's proposing to Suki, and Zuko panics. Featuring baby Druk, four-year-old Izumi, Hakoda and Bato being Tired Dads™, and a whole lot of Gaang-as-family.

[Aang’s the one who brings it to him. It’s tea, obviously, but it doesn’t smell like any tea that Zuko’s ever had. Spicy but also kind of...sour?

Zuko stares down at his cup with a sort of vague concern. He doesn’t want to drink this.

Aang’s staring up at him so earnestly, though, and Zuko’s never been able to say no to cute, googly eyes. It’s not right. He doesn’t want anything to do with Aang’s weird, spicy tea.]

    Or,

In which Zuko isn’t poisoned, but in fact finds himself at the tender mercies of a truth serum. In retrospect, maybe being poisoned would have been more pleasant.

For a long moment Q just stands there, tries to remind himself that air is good, breathing is great and he should really calm down or he'll end up doing something stupid.

He slams his hand into the back wall and it hurts like hell which means this is actually happening. "So I didn't run," he says, before he can think better of it – before he can think at all. "Are you going to tell me what the game is?"

    Summary

The conversation reaches peak weirdness when Sokka informs him that Prince Zuko is actually on their side and that Sokka wouldn't have succeeded in getting here without his help.

Hakoda really wishes he could sit and think about this for a while, but time isn't a luxury they've got, so he shoves it to the back of his mind and starts thinking of a plan.

(But he also promises himself that he'll keep a close watch on Prince Zuko when they meet, because while Sokka sounds sincere, he thinks it's probably best that he reserve judgement for now.)

Or, Hakoda sees Zuko, says "yikes" and proceeds to have an emotional crisis.

    Summary

    “Vespa, he’s burning up.”

“Yeah, having a fever will do that to you,” Vespa replies, rifling through a cabinet, fingers brushing over medicine before she lands on a bottle.

“Juno? Juno darling?” Nureyev says softly, jostling the ex-detective just so. He mumbles something unintelligible, blood-shot eye opening for a split-second, before shutting again. “He isn’t lucid. Vespa, he…”

Nureyev trails off. He can feel the emotion wavering with each word, the way he sounds so desperate. For years, he’s trained himself against this behavior; to burry and hide so much as a hint of emotion. Vulnerability is just another word for weak, and Peter Nureyev is not weak.

But… seeing Juno like this, feverish and trembling, not in his right mind at all, it’s as though decades of caution and staying guarded completely melt away. He can’t allow himself to behave this way, especially in front of Vespa of all people.

And yet, he can’t seem to stop.
