    Summary

“Obi- Wan!” Dex calls out the moment he sees him. The besalisk makes his way around the counter and Obi-Wan waits for the bone crushing hug he knows is coming. Dex’s Diner is as busy as ever and the lunch crowed adds a low chatter in the background.

“It’s been a while, Dex.” The greeting comes out in a rush as Dex picks up the padawan and squeezes the air out of him. The familiar hug soothes Obi-Wans nerves and he can't quite help grinning into Dex’s shoulder as he hugs back.

“So it has, you haven’t been here in months.” Dex keeps one of his upper arms on Obi-Wan shoulder and steps back. “What can I get for you? The special is always good.”

“I need a favour, Dex.” Some of his nerves must still show on his face because the besalisk frowns.

    “You in some kind trouble?”

Obi- Wan grins back and shrugs. “Not yet.”

    --------------
Obi- Wan gets visions of the future and when the council makes the wrong choise, according to him, Obi-Wan can not stand back and watch. He takes the future in his own hands.

Master Kannumai Doune disapproves of Qui-Gon during trip to Illum (ch. 12):
★ "It seems you are not the best at keeping track of children in your care."
    • "I'm nothing like Master Dooku." ... "True." Master Doune agrees, but it rings hollow between them. "But then again, I don't think Master Dooku would have left his fourteen-year-old Padawan in an active warzone."
"He was a child entrusted to your care. And you left him behind."
    • "Master Thal was injured, and in need of a healer, we didn't have the time for a debate."
"You are a Master, and he is a Padawan Learner. Could you not have knocked him out and taken him with you by force?"
"The Jedi Order does not take the unwilling and forcing him would have destroyed all trust between us."
"Are you saying no trust has been lost between you now?"
    • "But if I had been [there], I wouldn't have left MY Padawan alone, unarmed, to fight a war where both sides had no issues killing children."
    • "Master Tahl was dying. I couldn't just let her die."
"Finally, the truth. ... You were both running high on emotions and letting it cloud your judgment, but you as the Master should have taken responsibility and gotten you both to safety."
"If Padawan Kenobi had died on that planet and Master Tahl found out you had abandoned him to save her-... Do you think she would have ever forgiven you?"
I could have lived with that decision, as long as Tahl lives. He doesn't say it out loud, but she must have read it on his face.
"Then you are not half the man that I or the rest of the order thought you were, Master Jinn."

And Padawan Komari Vosa (ch. 14): "Where's Padawan Kenobi? You didn't lose him again, did you?"

Headcanon for Qui-Gon's aversion-to-visions and obsession-with-prophesy backstory (ch. 15). Also quote for basic training for combat forms:
"I have held you back because many Padawans -and full Jedi Knights, for that matter- forget that the most basic techniques is the most important technique. The purest. The most likely to protect you in battle, and the foundation of all knowledge that is to come.
"Most apprentices want to rush ahead to styles of fighting that are flashier, and most Masters let them because we must all find our preferred form eventually. But I wanted you to be grounded in your technique. I wanted you to understand the basic cadences so well that they would become instinct so that you would be almost untouchable. Above all, I wanted to give you the training you needed to accomplish anything you set your mind to later on."

    Summary

Geralt wakes up and immediately misses the bliss of being passed out. From blood loss, probably. He doesn't really remember, but his sword arm is completely numb and he has a headache that must have been caused by an angry god. Opening his eyes is not a priority.

Yes, but waking up means you are alive which is the preferred state for a Witcher to be, Geralt.

    Or:
Geralt loses his memory and needs to figure out how he acquired a bard of all things. Most importantly, he must figure out how to keep him.

    I love the opening scene.

“I swear to the gods Geralt, if you have died I will journey to the underworld and drag you back to kill you myself for leaving me.”
Oh. That is not the phrase of someone who wants him dead.

    Summary

Ben Parker sighed as he looked up into The Thing's eyes, so expressively human in spite of the rest of his rocky appearance.

“My fifteen-year-old nephew--who's practically my own little boy!--” he choked out with a tight voice, “h-he can't pass for human anymore. He's scared, and he's isolated, and he just needs someone else to talk to! Someone who can understand. Please."

    _____

Some alternate realities are unrecognizable, and some are indistinguishable. This one lies somewhere in between.

Peter Parker's life was derailed when he mutated into a strange human/spider hybrid, and he knows that's not the way things went down for him in other realities. Still, he's determined to forge a new path and make the best of it. Sometimes "the friends we made along the way" really is the greatest treasure anyone could ask for.
