Summary
National City is a tough place. With countless disasters, cut-throat high-tech businesses on every street corner and rent prices raised high into the stratosphere. Every day sees another few poor sods run out of the city exhausted, depressed or just plain scared.
It’s hardly a surprise then that National City’s flotsam often takes a hop-skip and a jump over the bay to the Star city docks. Where the bars are warm under the rainy sky, booze is cheap, and no questions are asked.
A friend, lied to and betrayed by everyone that mattered to her, looking for a fresh start.
A detective, burned one too many times but still trying to make the world a better place.
A sister, who’s lost every last piece of stability she had, desperately trying to keep it together.

Summary
With her strength failing, it was all she could do to clumsily tug at the bindings coiled around her, trying in vain to free herself. The burning in her lungs got worse and worse even as her struggles grew weaker. She was cold, in pain and bleeding in the dark water. Her lungs gave out on her, forcing her mouth open to try and suck in a desperate mouthful of air.

Kara Danvers...no Kara Zor-El, last true child of Krypton is dying. Over a decade of constant increasing exposure to Kryptonite is eating her up from the inside out. All that’s left is organize her last will and testament so concretely and publicly that no amount of government intervention can even hope to cover it up.
She’s not sure if it’s sad or relieving that she hasn’t met her soulmate yet. As lonely as she may be, at least she won’t leave a heartbroken widow when she’s gone.

Kara had never really been that interested in sex. She didn’t dislike it or anything, just never really understood what all the fuss was about. Eliza had fondly called her “a late bloomer” which Kara had accepted as the truth, not wanting to face the ideas of what it could be otherwise. She kissed boys, and even one girl, mostly just to try it out, but the experience was rather lacking and so Kara just shrugged it off. She knew, in the back of her head, that Kryptonians didn’t go through sexual maturation until much later anyways.
