The first thing Shouyou sees as he walks outside with the team (with his team) is the familiar sight of the bus, bringing a smile to his face as he glances at Tooru, his boyfriend- the second thing he sees makes his smile drop and the ground beneath him turn to ashes.
Shouyou stops.
This wasn’t supposed to happen, he thinks, numb even as the anxiety in his stomach skyrockets and vomit climbs up his throat like poison and like acid, burning and burning-
