Wei Ying felt his heart do a little flip flop of realization, and he set A-Yuan down to talk to him at eye level. “It’s okay! Everything is okay now A-Yuan. I’m gonna take good care of you alright?”
A-Yuan looked at him skeptically, but up until now(Like, maybe three hours) they had gotten along fine! Wei Ying was the only adult in a longtime who had tended to him.
He held out a tiny pinky looking more serious than any child had the right to, “Promise?”
Wei Ying took out his own little and gave him the kindest smile he could though somehow his grins always appeared mischievous. “I promise, I’m going to keep you safe.”
It was easier said than done.
OR - how Wei Ying kidnapped a child and got away with it.
