Heartthrob actor, Jamie Fraser, is at a crossroads in his life. The demands of his career are playing havoc with his personal life. He wants out of the Hollywood lifestyle, while still maintaining a home in the United States, as he ponders his acting career. He is drawn to the mountains of Seattle, which are so reminiscent of his home in Scotland, and when he’s presented with a unique opportunity in the wine industry, he is convinced that Seattle must become his primary home.
In the process of purchasing property to build a home, he meets potential neighbor, Claire Beauchamp, a widowed university lecturer, who captivates and intrigues him and makes him re-evaluate some important decisions. Complicating his ability to chart his own course is his manager and uncle, the irascible Dougal MacKenzie.

This is my first venture into writing for this fandom, although I have written a lot elsewhere for LFN and Torchwood.
The character of Lord John Grey entices me - and his unrequited love for a certain highlander.
At the end of Chapter 32 of the Scottish Prisoner, after John is seriously wounded, we are told that Jamie runs across the grass to John. At the start of Chapter 33, John is recovering in bed - several days later.
This ficlet attempts to fill that gap, described briefly later as Jamie recalls carrying John's bleeding body to the carriage.
I have tried to explore the feelings and thoughts of those concerned - all of whom care deeply about John.

Set in 1766 - Jamie Fraser has set up his printing shop in Edinburgh and John Grey has married Isobel Dunsany and is bringing up William Ransom, knowing him to be the son of Jamie.
On a wet night in June, a stranger appears in the print shop with urgent news for Jamie that will cause him to pack up and set off on a dangerous mission to rescue his son from kidnappers. The ransom they demand takes the form of sapphires, including those of John Grey who accompanies Jamie on his quest.
Please note, that the characters and premise have sprung from canon, but I've taken them and made my own story around them, which may not suit everyone's interpretation of the Outlander universe. However, if we can be asked to believe in very pinpoint, accurate time travel through a standing stone, then surely suspension of disbelief comes with the territory.
