    Summary

Clarke's been seeing flashes of her soulmate's life for most of what she can remember. She never sees anything too specific, never a clear face or a distinct view.

At first, it's monkey bars at the playground, a soccer ball flying into the goal post, a toy from a McDonald’s happy meal, a Barbie doll, a brown stuffed bear...

At twenty-two, Clarke's visions are more or less the same every time: plastic glow in the dark stars on a white ceiling, the sound of laughter in a big group of people, a peeled sticker on a beer bottle, a chess set or an opened book but with letters never clear enough to make out the words.

Her father told her these flashes were supposed to get more frequent and then stop once she meets her soulmate. But what if, after the flashes stop, Clarke's still not sure who her soulmate is?

    Summary

Ultimately it was his mouth that was her undoing, full lips shelving slightly over his teeth, the outline marked enough that it seemed as though God had drawn him with a sardonic smirk in mind. The single divot in his chin reminded her of a sculptor who might use their thumb to press an artist’s kiss to their masterpiece.

But then he spoke, and all the stars fell from her eyes.

    ******

Basically Clarke enrols in DC University and finds herself tested not only by mandatory attendance in college clubs, but also by useless boys who have useless curly hair and useless big brown eyes and useless muscular arms and oops she might have a crush on Bellamy Blake, which is inconvenient because Bellamy Blake is the biggest pain in her ass since the invention of extroverts.

    Summary

Bellamy almost stops breathing when he sees it. There’s a black outline of a human body – like the type you’d have to annotate in a science lesson – spanning the top of Clarke’s arm. The only things in the outline are a brain where the heart should be, and a heart in the head.

    It’s his mark.

He and Clarke have the same soulmarks.

    Clarke is his soulmate.

    -

Everybody has a soulmark, and there will be exactly one person on the planet that shares the same mark. They appear on a child’s thirteenth birthday – at the exact same time as the moment that they took their first breath in the world. No one really knows why, it’s just how it’s always been. There has always been soulmates, and however much research is done as to how they work, nobody is any the wiser. Soulmarks and soulmates are just one of the universes many secrets that nobody will ever be able to truly understand.

So, Bellamy had never really paid much attention to the whole discourse surrounding soulmarks and soulmates. Until, that was, his little sister’s best friend showed up on her thirteenth birthday with his soulmark on her skin.

    Summary

Bellamy has spent most of the last six years assuming that at some point, he’s going to have to kiss Clarke. They’re the main leads on a show, and that’s what main leads do.

So it’s a bit of a shock when they finally get the script for the final season and it sucks. Clarke bangs on his door that night and says they should film their own low-budget last season. It’s kind of a joke, but Bellamy agrees. Partially because he hates the canon ending. And partially because he knows he’ll never work up the courage to kiss her otherwise.

    Summary

“So how’d it go with the Commander?”

Clarke lets out a long huff, falling next to him on the double bed. Bellamy looks over at her, confused by her pinched expression.

“Bellamy,” Clarke says, eyes closed, fingers massaging the skin between her eyebrows. “Why does everyone think we’re married?”
