Summary
Things have been eating at her for a while, but on the eve of her wedding to Aang, Katara has a realization about her life and where she needs to be. With the right nudges, by the right people, Katara sets off to find her own purpose, which, of course sets her into trouble's way. But she's not alone, and she begins to wonder if half the fun is who you get into trouble with.

"Give up?"
He nodded decisively.
"Give up. If there's anything I learned from my time with Mai, it's that to be in a relationship, you will have to give something up. Or you will have to give them up."
He turned back to her, and she met his eyes steadily, even if scared.
"So, Katara. What are you willing to give up?"

He thinks it must be the concussion, or maybe it's the gallons of seawater gurgling in his belly, but the bay, lit up by the moon, a woman dances across the water.
No, not a woman.
A spirit.

She stood on the water, her lithe figure a dark outline across the moon’s surface. Backlit, her moves were like a dance of supremacy, and he watched the waves bow to her as if a partner. They twisted about her before falling like glittering diamonds. They lifted her on their amorphous hands, before letting her fall once more into their inky embrace. She emerged, her body sparkling like her skin had been turned to argent scales.
A spirit--she must be a spirit, he was certain.

This is for the Fluff Friday prompt on ZFAW 2020:
Monsoon season settles in wet and gray, much like Katara's mood. But even the rain must stop at some point.

Monsoon season sits like a leaden weight over the Fire Nation capital. The usual chitter and bustle of the markets and streets near the harbor is muted, the children herded inside (much to the chagrin of meticulous mothers), the markets forced into overhangs, their wares significantly reduced or waterlogged (much to the chagrin of the fathers now unable to escape their penned children and fractious wife). It is one of the few things that equalizes the Royal with the Commoner, the Noble with the Merchant....
However, even the waterbender is feeling the past two weeks of solid rain.
