Summary
Zuko is doing just fine in Ba Sing Se. He is halfway through graduate school; he has a handful of friends and a decent roommate and enough time to drink tea with his uncle even when the old man is at his most long-winded. If what he doesn't have is a significant other, well, that's alright with him. He at least hasn't been without his fair share of partners over the years, and he's busy now, anyway, with upper-level engineering classes to attend and a thesis to write. He isn't looking for anyone.
Then he takes over his roommate's TA job, just for a week, and meets one of the organic chemistry students, Katara. She is pretty and sharp and sweet all at once, and even though he isn't looking, being with her feels like finding.

Summary
Katara and Zuko share a single tragic commonality: losing their mothers in the same car crash years ago at the hands of Zuko's father. 19 year old Katara still finds herself grappling with the event that seems to define her life. When a stranger with a scar on his face appears at the site of the crash on the anniversary of her mother's death day, Katara realizes she can earn closure over the loss of one of the best parts of her life.

Summary
Sozin’s Comet never came, but the world is marred by civil unrest that has kept the four nations isolated and divided. The Fire Nation is embroiled in a bloody civil war that has lasted half a generation. The rightful Firelord Iroh and his treacherous brother Ozai have battled for dominance over the archipelago for the past fifteen years. General Zuko has won some and lost some in the conquest for his uncle, but the war continues to drag on with no end in sight. Out of everything that’s been thrown at him so far, the last thing he expected was a waterbender to show up in the middle of his camp.

Summary
The war ended 6 years ago. It's been two years since Zuko and Katara have seen each other. The Gaang tries to see each other as much as possible, but as time goes on, it gets harder. During a much needed break, the Gaang reunites to celebrate Suki and Sokka's engagement. When an inconvenience joins the group, Katara and Zuko are faced with the decision to either give into their feelings which have been bubbling under the surface for nearly 7 years, or do what their respective nations expect of them.

Summary
One hundred years ago the House of Sozin relinquished their powers of crown and state and started a war, founding a criminal empire on the ashes of thousands. It has been six years since Team Avatar ended that war, and stopped Ozai for good. Zuko has spent all of that time fighting tooth and nail to turn his family’s criminal legacy into something good, and maybe, if he's lucky, something he can be proud of.
Meanwhile, Katara is trying to get through college, and figure out what life after war means. Alone in Ba Sing Se, battling anxiety and insomnia, she begins feeling pangs of loneliness, and wonders...is she walking the right path, or is she simply lost in the dark?
