Summary
Daniel’s always been an intense, passionate guy—he always felt things too deeply and too widely and it always felt too big for his body to contain, like he’s always fit to burst with energy and emotion. Mr. Miyagi helped ground him, helped him learn how to focus his energy and channel it into something so it didn’t feel so big and all consuming. Mr. Miyagi kept him tethered, buoyed and ever since his death, Daniel’s felt like he’s been drifting out to sea, barely able to keep his head above water.
And right now, he feels like a drowning man at the bottom of an angry ocean with no hope for a rescue in sight.

“This is a lot harder than I thought it was gonna be.” Daniel whispers, swallowing heavily. “Not bein’ able to touch you or kiss you, it’s—“
“I know,” Johnny says, cupping Daniel’s jaw, thumb brushing over the curve of Daniel’s cheek.
Daniel leans into the touch, giving Johnny a brave smile. “We’ll be okay, though, right?”
“Yeah,” Johnny answers, giving him what he hopes is a reassuring smile. “Yeah, LaRusso, I think we’ll be okay.”
Johnny would be lying if he said he wasn’t sure how being with Daniel was going to work when they couldn’t be this, in public, in school, around their peers. If he’s also being honest, he didn’t really think this far a head when they decided to be, well, together.

Or: Johnny and Daniel try navigating the growing pains of a new relationship during the last few months of high school, all the while Johnny's still battling some demons that Kreese left behind and trying to keep Daniel as far away from it as possible. What can he say? He learns the hard way.

Summary
Johnny has always had a hot temper, Kreese just taught him how to use it. How to focus that anger into his fists, into his kicks, rather than keep it at the forefront of his mind so it clouded his vision and he couldn't think straight. It was a fine line that Kreese was only too happy to teach Johnny how to walk.
Without Kreese at his back to fan the flames, Johnny had thought some of that anger would fade. But the truth was, Johnny is more angry now that he ever remembers being in his life. And without Cobra Kai, he’s got no outlet for it anymore. And that terrifies him more than he wants to admit.

Or-- Johnny's figuring out how to find his balance--without Cobra Kai, without karate and without Kreese--with a few stumbles and missteps along the way.

It's weird. Luke knows it's weird. He's very much aware of the degree of weirdness that he is being right now. Very, painfully aware.
Which is why he's wearing a black beanie and sunglasses inside in the middle of spring.
Inside the school theatre to be exact, sure to anyone else it wasn't exactly a place which requires a friggin disguise to be in. But Luke was a football player, by the ancient and all knowing laws of high school he shouldn't even know where the theatre is, never mind sneaking in through the lighting booth to stand in the back of it.

So, maybe Luke likes to get drunk and bang chicks. He's a college boy. And, maybe he likes to occasionally get with another guy. But never, never, has Luke been into a boy in high school. Not even when he was in high school (or so he says).
