In a hundred different worlds Steve Rogers grows up with a strong and healthy boy at his sickbed, in a hundred different timelines that boy cares for him, stands by him, loves him…until the end of the line.
This is not that timeline. This is not that world.
In this world, in this time, Steve Grant Rogers grows up without a James Buchanan Barnes.
Somehow, they find their way to each other anyways.

The page flips, the forest shines bright, and the witch of the wilds sees in her mind a little Dalish camp, and in it an elven girl of great potential kicks within the womb that carries her.
Sometimes she is a warrior, sometimes a rogue, good with sword or knives or bow, and sometimes...in the most unlikely and improbable of all future’s, she is a mage.
It is that one, that single whispered future, that the witch of the wilds listens to with the most avid of ears. A story full of loss and sacrifice...but also hope, and knowledge, and the creation of something the elves have not had in far too long—a home.
A breath, a blink, a cry far off in the distance. In a thousand other stories a babe is born with no connection to the Beyond...but in this one, a mage, despite all the odds, and the little part of Mythal that still lives, that part of her that still looks upon the elves as her people...smiles.
What if the Dalish Warden was born a mage? An exploration of what a Dalish Mage Origin could have looked like with the new elvish lore that we know from Inquisition, and how it could have changed everything for her people, and Thedas.

Only by reason of having died does one enter into life.
“Sakura. Just Sakura That's how they’d introduced her. She knew it was true, she was no longer a Haruno after all, but it didn’t stop the words from feeling like a dull knife in her side."
Or, Sakura goes to the Uchiha compound the night of the massacre and comes away an orphan with more questions than answers. What follows is a whirlwind of seals, friendships, myths, and self-discovery. What secrets did her family hide from her? And does she really want to know the answer?
He looks down at the blood on his hands and on the floor and wonders why the memory hasn’t broken yet, why he isn’t back in Starcourt mall with control of his body again, wonders if he's even still alive at all. Is this hell then? Or perhaps purgatory? It certainly isn’t heaven, that’s for sure. None of this makes any sense…but then what's new—nothing in Billy’s life makes sense anymore.
Billy laughs then, loud and long and unhinged. It's the only sound in the whole house, and it bounces off the walls like a fucked up echo, like the world is laughing with him.
“Jesus christ you’re insane…” It’s Max’s voice and it’s shaking. It only makes Billy laugh harder, because Max has it all wrong. Billy isn’t crazy, it’s the rest of the world that’s insane.
Billy dies a hero of sorts. He wakes up back in his bed on Saturday morning, the third of November, 1984...nearly nine months earlier.

There was a moment of silence as the little girl gathered her thoughts. “I dream of a place that is not here. A place with towers of steel and flying metal boats. Of fires that never go out, of people so rich they throw out mountains of food and still grow so fat they can hardly move—”
“Oh,” Her mother sighs a laugh, interrupting her, “Wynnie, those are not like the True dreams. Those are just dreams, wild imaginations that bloom at night, when you have the time to think on them.”
“No!” Edwyna shouts, startling the laughter from Lady Starks’ face as quickly as it formed, “No, these are real.”
Lady Lyarra Stark prays to the Gods for an answer to her husbands foolish southern ambitions, and gets more than she bargained for. But will her unnaturally intelligent daughter be enough to keep her children and the North safe?
Edwyna doesn't think she is as special as her mother believes. All she knows is that she wants the dreams to stop so she can sleep and play with her brother Brandon in peace.

Jaskier should really know better by now than to trust Geralt when he says something isn't real.
“Sex curses aren’t real,” he says, apropos of nothing, and looks Jaskier directly in the eye as he says it. Jaskier feels oddly like he’s facing one of his tutors, and he’s so thrown that he almost forgets to comment on the subject matter.
Almost. “Sex curses?” he repeats, ignoring Geralt’s unimpressed look. “Uh, good to know I guess? I don’t think I have a song about it, but I’ll remember that?”
Geralt crosses his arms and nods towards the table. There’s a folded up piece of paper there, and Jaskier recognizes it as the notice from earlier, and he scans through the scrawled handwriting.
“Seen this before,” Geralt continues while Jaskier reads. “Small village, bored husbands who can’t keep it in their pants and try to blame it on a curse when they get caught.”
Jaskier folds the paper back up. The description was vague enough, men being “overcome with lust”, no rhyme or reason. “Could it be succubus?” he asks, and can’t help but roll his eyes and mouth along when he says “Not real.”

Witchers don't feel pain, but it doesn't mean they don't feel something
The realisation shudders through Jaskier’s blood like a static shock, furious arousal pooling low in his stomach.
‘Hm,’ Geralt hums, agreeing.
“Don’t you trust me?” Geralt asked.
“With my life? Yes. With my dignity? No.”
“Didn’t know you had any to lose.”
One by one, Jaskier loses his senses. Though according to Geralt, he never had any sense to begin with.
