Summary
Tony Stark has never been sane. Especially since those very particular three months spent imprisoned at a place beginning with ‘Afghan’ and ending in ‘istan’ because God he just just can’t mention that name, let alone think about it.
Tony Stark, is also presumed dead. As far as the public and media know, the several search and rescue teams that were sent out in a desperate attempt to find the missing genius, found no clues as to where he could have gone.
After his disappearance. Ironman; one of the most feared vigilante villains of New York, makes his first appearance.

They rushed out onto the streets cast in a consuming darkness, smoke and ashes cloaking the damp stone ground, rubble and wreckages of vehicles littering the sea of chaos and destruction. And amongst the chaos, emerging from the plumes of smoking flame came the gleaming blue eye-stalks. The rigid metal casings glinting with a golden metallic aura. The faint whirs of mechanical constructs wheeling their way towards those who oppose them.

Summary
After Tony is captured by HYDRA and is tortured under extreme conditions, The Avengers must deal with the devastating aftermath of a situation which they couldn’t prevent. They are unable to recover one of their most famed members of the team.
During the Avengers’ failed attempts of rescue, Tony is eventually driven to a state of insanity in which he believes that his team has abandoned him. He is experimented on, turned into a merciless killer and let loose on the world with a developing hatred for the heroes that he once loved, leaving even his most trusted friends with the loss of his irreplaceable personality.-~-
Chapter 10 | After Tony Reunites with Pepper, the progress that the Avengers had made soon goes down the drain. They must come to terms with the situation at hand and come up with a plan to solve the the dilemma.
