    Summary

A handful of potential insights into the dark side of Severus Snape and the light side of Lucius Malfoy that do not conflict with their public canon portrayals or derail Rowling's plotline in and of themselves, if you manage to keep plot bunnies on a short leash.

Slytherin-centric perspectives on the Dark Arts, and Defence Against the Dark Arts beyond the limitations of how Griffindors tend to separate the world into simplistically good and evil people and intentions. Plus a good reason for Snape to snap out "Don't call me 'coward'." that goes deeper than Rowling offers from a child-friendly Griffindor perspective in Harry's own conclusions.

    Summary

So this is based on a tumblr prompt by Mauraders4evr (https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard/blog/marauders4evr)
"Harry Potter AU where Harry is hiding in the cabinet in Borgin and Burkes. And he sees Lucius grab Draco with his cane. And he hears the hiss, “What did I tell you?” And he hears the quiver in the blonde boy’s voice, “Don’t touch anything.”

    And Harry knows.

Because he’s used the voice that Draco uses for the past twelve years.

    He knows.

Because now that he’s lived with the Weasleys for over a month, he knows that that’s not the way that a father’s voice should be.

    He knows..."

And it wouldn't leave me alone so...

In parallel reality, Sirius Black never chases after Peter Pettigrew the night the Potters were killed, but instead stays to take care of Harry. He ends up adopting him and raising him together with his partner Remus Lupin. A small change that has a ripple effect on Harry's personality and life.

    2.
When fighting off some Death Eaters in the Department of Mysteries, Harry accidentally falls through the doorway between the Time Room and the Space Room and is sent to a parallel universe, switching places with another Harry who grew up with muggles and was Sorted into Gryffindor instead of Slytherin.

    3.
Back in his own world, Harry is about to start Sixth Year but is becoming increasingly aware of the up-coming war. At least he has his dads and Draco by his side.
