When no one believes what he remembers, or lets him talk about it, he tries his best to ignore it."
A story that gives us one possible explanation for why John and Sherlock are so close. This is by far not their first lifetime together. Nor will it be their last. And still, John knows it won’t be enough. It will never be enough.

Summary
For John it starts the day Mary tells him she knows how he feels about Sherlock.
For Sherlock, it starts the day he meets John Watson, who reminds him that when he does choose to care, it's almost always too much.
And for Mary, it starts the day Sherlock Holmes comes back from the dead because that is the day she knows without a doubt her husbands heart is no longer solely hers.
This tale is told from three different points of view so you can get the whole story of how three very different people learn to build a relationship together. Or, the one in which Mary won't let John be a martyr, Sherlock is forced to learn a lot about human nature - especially his own, and Mary sees to it both her boys get their heart's desire and finds her own in the process.
