And wow. Wow and a half. Richie couldn’t have even dreamed up a guy this cute, although admittedly he’d been picturing some dude in baggy jeans and a beanie with a hacky sack this whole time. Which couldn’t be further from this...absolute snack of startled, prep-school perfection.

“When was your first day?” He asks, unsure if that is an appropriate question to ask. Several moments slide by before Richie moves to take his glasses off and set them on his nightstand. He closes his eyes once they are off like there's no point in trying to see anything without them.

    “Fourth grade,” Richie answers quietly.

“Fourth grade?” Eddie repeats incredulously, amazed that anyone could send their kid off to boarding school so young. For a moment, he tries to imagine what little 9-year-old Richie would look like, tiny suitcase in hand as he waved goodbye to his parents. Maybe he even cried after lights out. Eddie frowns against his pillow.

Richie thinks it would be funny to try on one of Eddie's shirts. Eddie's response is not what he expected.

    Summary

His mouth goes dry when he looks outside. He hasn’t seen this gardener before, and he’s sure of it, because he’s positive he’d fucking remember this guy. He’s divorced and in his thirties, but he’s also gay, and he’s certainly not dead, and this guy would’ve stuck in his memory for sure if he’d seen him before.

The guy’s still mowing the lawn, unaware that Eddie’s even there. He’s got at least half a foot of height on Eddie, with wide, broad shoulders and thick curling hair pulled back into a bun. He’s sweating, which isn’t surprising since Eddie’s been out for about two minutes in a tank top and shorts and he’s already sweating. The gardener has a thin t-shirt on and shorts that end above his knees, and it’s all just soaked through.

“Hey,” Eddie calls. The guy doesn’t look up right away, so Eddie shouts, “Hey!” and the guy finally turns.
