    Summary

They both had work the next day. Wei Ying’s pointedly affordable electronics repair shop opened early, so people would have time to stop in before work; Lan Zhan started lecturing at 8am sharp. Wei Ying told himself he wouldn’t be disappointed if Lan Zhan’s warm gaze turned apologetic. He would be okay, he just—would be better than okay, with Lan Zhan.

“Where do you want to go?” Lan Zhan asked.

After introducing Lan Zhan to his siblings, Wei Ying asks Lan Zhan to take him for a drive.

    Summary

Today, they were facing against a ghost who fed through his victims’ emotions, pursuing him to a shopping center’s parking lot, when a dark presence showed up unannounced, twirling a black dizi with a grin.

The rogue vigilante: the Yiling Patriarch.

“What are you doing here?!” Nie Mingjue had no time for this man’s antics.

“ChiFeng-Zun,” the Yiling Patriarch saluted, his grin gaining a teasing edge as he shifted his sights to Lan Zhan, giving no attention to the rest of the squad, much to their whispering indignation, “Hanguang-Jun…”

Within a blink of a moment, Lan Zhan had the man against a wall, his sword, Bichen, a touch shy of the Yiling Patriarch’s neck. Turning towards Nie Mingjue, Lan Zhan implored, “Leave him to me.”

(three times Hanguang-Jun and the Yiling Patriarch pretended to be enemies, and one time they didn't have to.)

    Summary

The cultivation world is rebuilding from the wreckage of the Sunshot Campaign, but Wangji and his shield brother Wei Wuxian are still completely attached at the hip. It is sad that Lan Xichen’s brother is stuck in the youthful pattern of - ah, no polite way to say it: exchanging handjobs with his shield brother - rather than moving on to more adult pursuits.

On the other hand, now that the war is over, Wangji does seem so much more open and happy than he was as a boy. He smiles sometimes, mostly at Wei Wuxian. Once, he even took an afternoon off. So Lan Xichen can let Wangji’s closeness with his shield brother lie for a time, while he finishes maturing.

It wasn’t bone. It was too smooth. It caught the light like something greased.

“A curse,” Lan Wangji breathed, because it could only be such.
