"Time seemed to be ticking by especially slow, Emma’s eyes periodically flickering to the clock to see what time it was. The blonde leaned back in her chair and tilted her head, giving a frustrated sigh. “It was eight o’clock two hours ago,” she complained to the empty room. Wait. Killian was supposed to be here by now. She hadn’t received a text or a phone call, nothing. It wasn’t like him to just back out of something cold turkey. A frown had settled on the woman’s face, who soon took out her cellphone and re-read the last text message Killian had sent her. Be there soon, it read. That was two hours ago. Maybe she was just being paranoid, but maybe she had every right to be paranoid?"
