“I’ll ignore the fact that we’re somehow on a first-name basis now and simply ask—Would you like to come in?”
It was not a strange question, anticipated even, but it clawed at Will, under his fingernails and across his scalp. He didn’t want to be in there. Looking past Hannibal, Will could see the shadows of years, words, threats, and veiled intentions lingering beyond the threshold. He shook his head against the request and instead made himself stand. He felt an inescapable urge to get out of here.

Despite the chaos, Lounds’ voice cut through like the ring of a bell, sharp and high. “Mr. Graham,” Lounds shouted, “didn’t they find you at his table?”
Crawford repeated “no further questions” like a mantra, at the top of his lungs; the way a child would, in combination with ears covered and eyes screwed shut, to block out an undesirable sound.
“Did you eat them?” Lounds yelled over the din.
In which Will Graham survives an abduction by a serial killer, only to find that somehow he's garnered the interest of at least one more.

Summary
Doctor Lecter holds the scalpel in Will's hands between two fingers, eyes shiny with something like awe for the first time in their short acquaintance. It is the same look his father gives him the first time he sees Will’s trick in person. It is the same one Doctor Bloom gives him when he offers her the wilting peony tucked tight to his chest, back when it didn’t upset her to see.
“Very good, Will,” he whispers, and Will - barely awake, hand clutching the instrument as one meaning to write with it instead of sever - nods, and leans into the hand at his neck.
