    The first time Steve visits Wakanda, Bucky plans it obsessively.

    He picks neutral clothes, the ones Steve will expect, trims his beard and lets Shuri tie back his hair. He studies himself in the mirror for twenty minutes in her bathroom and pulls it back out again, then keeps staring until she yells something exasperated through the door about white boys and their vanity, and he puts himself together and goes down to the plaza and completely freezes when Steve gets out of the plane.

    Batman, to put it politely, doesn't trust easily.

    For an investigative journalist like Superman Clark Kent, that just makes him more fascinating. When Batman (finally) joins the Justice League, Superman is— to say the least— intrigued, and eager to get to know the mysterious Gotham Bat. So is everyone else. But only Clark has a crush on Batman... which leads to him accidentally discovering the man's identity. However, before Clark can act on this information (other than telling Batman that he knows), he dies. And when he comes back, things are not the same, because Bruce and Diana are dating.

    Or so Clark thinks.

    Another foster home. That's all Tony saw this as. He didn't think kids got to go to back into fostering after group homes. But here he was, walking up the steps to another weird family with three other weird kids.

    So, no, he doesn't see anything coming out of this. They'll ship him off in four to five months just like all the others. They'll get annoyed and find him too wound-up even if he tries really hard not to be, just like all the others. They'll call him stupid, too, just like all the others. He's sure if it.

    And then these people do the craziest thing and... don't.
