“Dawn’s on its way,” the woman says lightly. “Coming or going?”
“Going,” Catra responds. The woman’s eyes darken.
“It’s one word, Catra. You’re seriously going to sit here and rot for your pride?”
Catra nods, resolute. It doesn’t matter what this woman says— she has seen it time and time again, death hooking its claws into countless souls, dragging them to a world she has yet to see. “Death comes for us all.”
The woman hums agreement. “Eventually, yes. In the meantime—" she pauses, eyes sliding over Catra.
“Come what will.”or: catra may be immortal, but this woman will be the death of her.

Summary
Before today, Catra hadn’t really had much of an opinion on corn mazes. They were okay— midwest tradition, a little cheesy but maybe kind of fun, depending on who you’re with. Just kind of...whatever. She’d never really thought about it.
Now, standing alone in what is possibly the biggest corn field she’s ever seen in her life, entirely lost, hours past sunset and probably miles beyond the maze’s borders, she’s starting to form a more colorful opinion of them.
Well— she’s not entirely alone, because blondie here won’t stop following her. It’s getting kind of annoying, honestly, even though she’s the only person for miles and Catra’s one shot at getting out of this shitty field once and for all. She's not sure how much longer she can deal with this girl’s incessant positivity and that cocky smile she keeps throwing Catra’s way, either. It would all be fine (maybe even a little fun) if the girl weren't so obviously straight.
But it’s fine. Catra can take care of herself.

Summary
Coping with her stressful studies on the way to certification as a physiotherapist, Adora has fallen into a local community theatre as a way to have fun and make new friends. She's made a place for herself there and everything is going great when she lands one of the lead roles of their newest play - until she shows up to the first rehearsal and the person cast in the role of her romantic opposite is Catra, who she hasn't seen since the breakup eight years ago when she left Catra behind to move across the country for a soccer scholarship.
But there's no denying the obvious chemistry between them when they get on stage, and the director won't hear of anybody else playing the roles.

Catra just about chokes on her own saliva, she jerks the pillow away from her face, squinting at Perfuma. "Ack—I'm sorry, did you just tell me to join a hook-up app?"
[AU: Catra gets pushed into downloading Tinder by Perfuma and Scorpia. She matches with what is obviously a catfish, because there is no way Adora Greyskull would ever actually use it. The problem is, she actually kind of likes whoever's behind the account.]
