Grumpy. Dabi tries not to smile while playing with the ends of his hair, finger-combing through the tangles there. “Were you waiting up for me?”
“No.” It sounds like he’s pouting. Dabi tugs at his hair a little in teasing, then stops when he hears a lapse in breathing. He does it again. Tomura shifts a little more to lie on top of him, their legs tangling together. “I hate you,” he complains.

“Well, you aren’t as much of a dangerous maniac as you’d like to think that you are, Tomura,” Dabi murmurs. “You want everyone to be afraid of you. I don’t fear you.”
Tomura sighs. “Truthfully, Dabi, I never thought that you did. I thought that would be a problem for a little while. But...I don’t know. I think I like it.”
Dabi looks away for a long moment before speaking again, eager to change the topic. Again, he’s grateful the other can’t see the rising heat in his cheeks; that nobody would ever be able to see him so vulnerable with the scars that his agonizing burns once left behind.
