When he heard the news that Batman had replaced him with another Robin, Jason decided he wanted nothing more to do with Gotham. So instead, he went to Bludhaven, to take care of crime there as he saw fit. And then somehow, ended up being the greatest hero ever to the entire city's under 18 population.
“Don’t hit your brother,” he says, automatically. Absently.
“Adopted,” they both say, simultaneously.
Father links his fingers together in his lap, peers interestedly at the ceiling for a moment. “Yes,” he says, finally. “You are clearly very different.”

Jason Todd never asked to be Batman, but he got saddled with the job anyway, and made the most of it. When he finally died, he thought that was it.

The woman stares at him. “But you can see me,” she argues. “Only those who’ve passed on from this existence can see the dead.”
Jason shifts his weight, uncomfortable. “I mean, I was dead. I just got better.” Talk about unexpected side-effects. As if the Lazarus pit hadn’t already fucked him up enough.
