“Never have I ever had sex,” says Jester, an easy opener, a low blow – and Caleb, along with the rest of them bar Caduceus, drinks.

(The Mighty Nein decide to play a drinking game, and Caleb recalls some of Bren's experiences with sex.)

    Summary

Caleb is silent on the walk. The others clearly don’t expect him to talk, which is lucky, because he can barely put one foot in front of the other at the moment, let alone formulate a coherent thought.

Or, Caleb has a breakdown, and then another, smaller breakdown. It's been a long day.

    Summary

Feuilly is a self-reliant person by necessity, he grew up learning that if he needed something done, he was the one that would have to do it. And this isn't necessarily a bad thing: he's productive and self-motivated and a pleasure to work alongside.

What is a bad thing is that Feuilly doesn't seem to realize that he now has people who genuinely want to help him when things become too much.

    Summary

Apparently, in the early manuscript of Les Miserables, Victor Hugo (presumably accidentally) left Joly and Feuilly off of the list of those killed on the barricade. So I took that and ran far, far away with it... so, a survival fic for barricade day.

    ----

“Don’t tell me you’re superstitious about speaking the names of the dead,” he said, his tone gently teasing, though his brow was creased.

“We’ve—never yet spoken of them,” Joly said, speaking slowly in an effort to keep his voice steady.

“Perhaps we have been remiss in that.”
