Summary
*** Written mostly in 2004, despite the post date. ***
Actually, it hadn’t been. At all. Which is fine, but it does not explain why Sirius Black is sprawled out on Remus Lupin’s bed with his trousers around his ankles.

Crash Course: Mean Dr. K's Estimeric Week Survey Section by PetrarchanConceit

Summary
For Estimeric Week 2021, I decided to introduce seven prominent western world historical literary schools/movements and write a fic in the style of each one, so folks could see, once all seven days are lined up in order, how the philosophical underpinnings of these movements shift and change in regard to their interests and emphases as time progresses.
After Estimeric Week 2021, however, I've kept adding to this collection by writing in the style of specific authors. If you consider the first part of the collection akin to a 200-level western canon survey class in university, the additional chapters are like 300 or 400-level classes that cover the canon of a particular author.

One would think Aymeric wouldn't have to cheat to best Estinien in combat.
Of course, he has his reasons.

Summary
Really, there are many things he admires about him.
Their patrol, like any other day, is quiet. But it isn't the tense, wary quiet of the other knights, unsure of what to say, untrusting of bastards, wanting nothing more than to be rid of Aymeric's company and return to the Forgotten Knight with their own men. He'd accepted long ago that such was the way of things. But not with Estinien.
The others don't like him. Not at all. They don't like his blunt demeanor, his complete lack of social grace. He refuses any invitation to drink -- not that any try inviting him anymore. He cares not for any of the gossip from the Brume, from the high house maidens, from anyone. He shows no interest in his fellow knights' company, nor the women they tend to seek in the night. He speaks little. He trains extensively, showing more battle prowess than any other. How he wields a spear is something fearsome and beautiful, and...
That's all, Aymeric tells himself as they continue the long day's patrol. He's an excellent knight and a skilled companion. Nothing more.
