"I'll do it," he said.
Éponine stood up. Grantaire tapped his cigarette on his windowsill, watching the ashes fall and disappear into the sea of neon. He expected Éponine to leave, but she didn't. Just kept looking at him.
"I'm not joking," he said, still looking outside. "I will. It's actually a great idea. Best I ever had, probably."
Éponine sat back down. "Grantaire," she said, her voice shaking. "How can you say that?"
"No, think about it. No one knows the repercussions better than we do. No one knows the risks. I'd argue that it's ethically unsound to have anyone but one of us take that kind of risk."

Summary
Ryan and Shane have been moving around something that is coming to a head between them. After a car accident, on the way to an investigation, Ryan slowly starts to become suspicious that Shane might not be what he seems. He realizes, though, that he just might not care.
Shane sits forward suddenly. “Hey, pull over up here.”
Ryan follows the instruction without questioning it, which probably says something about either his willingness to listen to Shane or his sanity. Maybe both; they go hand in hand. He puts on his blinker, even though they haven’t seen another car in a couple of minutes, and pulls off onto the shoulder.
“Are you gonna puke or something?” he asks, putting the car into park, as Shane takes off his seatbelt with one hand and tugs off his Ray Bans with the other.
“You better hope not,” he murmurs as he leans over the center console and kisses Ryan solidly on the mouth.

For the space_wrapped prompt “All Jim wants for Christmas is a little role reversal so he can take some orders from Captain McCoy.” My apologies to the lovely, awesome space_wrapped mods and the prompter that this post’s a day late, but anyone who’s read my PWP knows it’s really more like porn, what porn, because it always goes plotty on me. This is no different. Hope the prompter still likes the eventual reversal of roles. Loads of angst, followed by NC-17 schmoop, role reversal of sorts, light D/s and light bondage.
