    Summary

Jin Ling’s needs were constant and repetitive; they ran like a lifeline through Jiang Cheng’s days. He didn’t need to see past the next feeding, the next changing. He didn’t need to persuade himself to get out of bed in the morning; sooner or later Lingling would cry, and he would find he could move after all. In the middle of the night, when neither of them could sleep, he paced up and down the room, holding Lingling to his chest, whispering, “Jiujiu’s here. I won’t leave you alone. I promise.”
    ---
Jiang Cheng knew Lan Zhan had been seeing way more of Wei Ying than he had, but it still burned: Lan Zhan’s easy familiarity with Wei Ying’s household, with his thoughts. I’m the one that grew up with him. He was mine first.

    Summary

The lanterns hanging in the entryway to Lotus Pier sway minutely in the wind. They are old and heavy, bamboo wood panels framing delicately painted silk. There is a story in the art, Jiang Cheng is aware, but he has not looked at it closely since he was young enough to have someone to ask about it.

In the warm light of the setting sun, the art is faded and impossible to make out. And there is no one left for him to ask about what it is he can neither see nor understand.

The tassels brush through Jiang Cheng’s hair as he leaves.

Winter ends with Jiang Cheng tripping over the largest, most peculiar bunny he has ever seen in his life.

A vague tattoo parlour/flower shop AU because I suddenly realized how much I've missed it in my life.

    Summary

It doesn’t take Jiang Cheng long to come to the easy conclusion.

“Sure,” he says, cutting Lan Xichen off, feeling a mix of confusion, embarrassment and gratitude over Lan Xichen’s offer.

“Really?” The surprise is palpable. But rather than comical, the wide eyes and raised eyebrows look appealing on Lan Xichen’s face. Jiang Cheng can’t imagine Lan Xichen’s face making an expression that wasn’t flattering.

“Yeah, it’s a little embarrassing that you think I need it, but if you’re offering to give me dating lessons, I won’t say no?” He grins a little ruefully then, rubbing the back of his neck. “I probably need it.”

    “Lessons?” Lan Xichen echoes.

    “Yes?”

Lan Xichen blinks, then slowly says, “Yes. Dating lessons. To help you practice dating.”

    -

Jiang Cheng is lonely and sick of eating dog food. Lan Xichen offers to practice dating with him. It's an ideal situation, as long as no one develops any unwelcome feelings.
