Everyday is the same for a 14 year old Luo Binghe. Wake up, do the all the chores when it was supposed to be split between all the disciples fairly, get beaten for nothing, lament about his fate while pretending he's fine because he's talking to Ning-shijie. Rinse and repeat.
He was prepared to do the same thing everyday for the rest of his stay on Qing Jing Peak,but then he woke up to a voice in his head saying that it will help him earn the love of his cold-hearted shizun.
Well, it's not like there's anything wrong with listening to it. He has nothing to lose except for his life if he fails.

Long, tanned, bruised fingers are wrapped tightly around the dizi, familiar, and when Lan Zhan’s eyes flick to the owner of the dizi, his entire world stops spinning.

(or, alternatively, Lan Zhan has spent six years searching, assuming Wei Ying dead, only to find Wei Ying has been alive this whole time and he's not entirely the bright sunshine of a boy Lan Zhan remembers)

Lan Zhan finds himself tucked under Wei Wuxian’s arm by now. The youngster is laughing like a mad man, the wind whipping his face and making his long hair flutter behind his back as they rise in altitude.
Now we're gonna go with beat like thunder~

They arrive at a spot just under a cloud, welcomed by a fanfare of honks from a startled bunch of wild geese who have been on the way. Wei Wuxian apologetically waves at them but doesn’t forget the reason why he’s got there in the first place.
He takes a deep breath, swelling his chest, and…
“IT’S HALLOWEEEEEEN!”, he yells from the bottom of his lungs to the little town of Yiling just below him.
A ‘SHUT UP!!!’ is heard in the distance.

If I had, I would’ve prepared a gift.” He stepped closer and cocked his head. “But why would he let the Yiling Laozu be in the presence of his sweet and precious omega alone, hm?”
Wei Ying’s hackles rose. Gods, was he really like this before? Wei Ying had never wanted to strangle himself more.
He would if he didn’t recognize his own heartbreak in the face he hadn’t seen in a long time.
