Shinra doesn't need Reeve Tuisti to actually be an architect now that the Promised Land is in sight, so it's all espionage work with his robot Cait Sith, making sure AVALANCHE doesn't get too far ahead of them in chasing down Sephiroth. Summary
Doctor Facilier is up to his ears in heartless and trouble in New Orleans; if he wants to buy his life back from seven powerful monsters trapped in masks, he'll need to feed them a city's worth of souls. It's grueling work, especially when only the desperate come to the man stained by darkness.
Luxord is his newest customer, and is certainly definitely most exceedingly not: technically an alien, missing his soul, planning the apocalypse, falling in love.
It's just a tour guide to tourist relationship. What's so bad about that? The only thing really at risk is Facilier's heart, after all.

"Da-ge,” Nie Huaisang says in good cheer. “Why don’t I handle this? Isn’t it time I start helping around the sect more?”
“You can help by practicing your saber for more than one hour a week,” Nie Mingjue retorts on impulse, but considers the offer carefully. Huaisang is smart and insightful. Maybe he is just better suited for the sort of chaos that can’t be solved by throwing a saber at it.
“Alright,” Nie Mingjue concedes. “If you have some ideas, go ahead. If you need help with anything…”
“It’s alright Da-ge, I’ll make this work.”
(In which Nie Huaisang takes charge of the Nie sect. Things get worse more than they get better...)

According to the Gusu Lan Mushroom Encyclopedia, no one survives an infection of Pseudocandida sanitacaenatus, a highly pathogenic man-made species of fungus first released slightly more than fifty years ago. But the Jiang Sect's Wei Wuxian has been acting weird, lately, and Jiang Cheng is more than a little worried. Elsewhere, deep within the mountain of Qinghe, Nie Huaisang is struggling as he assumes the role of sect leader in the abrupt absence of his brother, Nie Mingjue. Only by working together can they solve their problems and maybe, just maybe, make the world a better place in the process.
