It’s a foolish and inappropriate thought, given the circumstances, but Aether hopes that one day, Xiao can protect him like that.

Albedo prides himself for his ability to stay aloof; however, it might take a single accidental meeting to permanently alter that course of thought.“You know,” Kaeya says, stirring his dripping smoothie with a paper straw, “you could simply ask him to pose for you.”
“Don’t be ridiculous,” a frown pulls at Albedo’s mouth; one of faint annoyance and painful internal struggle. “Anyone in their right mind would turn down such an offer. He doesn’t even know me.”
“Well, I don’t know how to tell you this, buddy,” not your buddy, Albedo echoes, because while he’s familiar with Kaeya Alberich, he barely tolerates the man at times, “but if you ever find it in yourself to get your adorable button nose out of that sketchbook and point it towards the table over there, you might find that you’ve sorely miscalculated.”
True to his word, the golden-haired boy is looking their way.

Summary
“How radiant you are,” is what Albedo breathes out in the end. He can barely believe it’s his own voice as he speaks, but he can’t bring himself to stop speaking or tear his gaze away from Aether, even as his voice begins to waver. “The heart of the universe, carrying the weight of the stars. All centered in a single, otherworldly traveler. Certainly, Teyvat has been blessed.”
There’s an unreadable expression on Aether’s face as he stares back up at Albedo, summoning a silent pause. After a few beats, Aether shifts to sit back up, his back facing Albedo. For a brief moment, the alchemist begins to panic -- was he perhaps a little too truthful? Was Aether disgusted by such a comment and was going to leave -- but his worries are dispelled the moment Aether shifts a second time, turning to face Albedo.
“What is it then, that the universe revolves with?”

Summary
The sun. Bright, the source of energy for living life on this world, spreading its life to all around it. Even when it leaves, it’s only inevitable that it will eventually return. Albedo reaches out for the bottle, containing only sediment from that damned experiment that would’ve accidentally killed Aether if he hadn’t been prepared. That would have killed the only warm sun this campsite -- that Albedo -- had ever truly known.
He stares at the strange, pink sediment gathered at the bottom of the bottle, thinking. The moon shows only when the sun has left. What light it emits is only stolen from the sun, reflecting on its surface just a fraction of what it has been given. The moon can try its best, but it will never be the same as the sun, casting its effect on others while trying its best to guide where the sun cannot.
Rolling the spout of the potion bottle between his fingers, Albedo wonders if his own gravitational pull is strong enough to bring Aether back before the end.

There is a boy in the city who likes to draw.
Elaine sees him more often than she should. Not that she looks out for him in particular, but she can’t help noticing the white tuft of a hair peeking out from behind a sketchbook every time, whether he’s just sitting on a random bench, or at a table in a coffee shop, or even standing up against a wall. Once, she took a quick break and headed up to the roof of her apartment, only to find the boy sitting on the edge, sketching out a bird’s eye view of the city, she assumed. He didn’t seem to notice her, and Elaine figured it was best not to disturb him. He looked very focused.
But she does get curious sometimes. She can’t be the only one that notices him often, right?
