Summary
"I'm sorry I'm not your soulmate, that I can't give you what you want." The General sounded so painfully sincere, and it cracked at Cody. He'd come into this situation knowing that his General was a Jedi and there was little to no chance that Cody could actually have something with him. But that wasn't even true.
"It's fine, sir. I just wanted you to know; I had no expectations, no demands."
Somehow, this hurt even worse, knowing that Jedi could have a relationship with their soulmate, but that while the General was his soulmate, he was not the General's.

This one is so deep and just really gets across the differences in Obi-Wan and Anakin, and Cody and Rex. I absolutely love the way the writer distills their past experiences into the advice they give.

I don't normally bookmark things before they're finished, but I love this idea and all three of the fics using it are really good (I especially like the first, currently at 10 chapters, and the third, currently at 3 chapters). I could reread what's in these so far dozens of times.
