All he could focus on was the fact that TK had been hurt too. That the man had been caught in the middle of the bar fight along with him. That he wasn't sitting there with him. His medicated brain couldn't concentrate on anything more than that. Even with his parents, who still thought TK was "friend TJ from work" were sitting there beside him.

God he wanted Carlos to find them. As irrational as it was, he wanted Carlos to save them. But for now, he would do what he could. He would do what he could and just hope he didn't end up on the wrong side of a gun...again...

He doesn’t know how it happens.
Just that, one second he’s facing down a suspect; the next, he’s flat on his back, a searing pain tearing through his side. Carlos sucks in a ragged breath, a harsh cough ripping from his throat. Mitchell is above him, her eyes wide and panicked as she speaks into her radio, but Carlos can’t hear what she’s saying, which would probably be more concerning if he could put thoughts together right now.
