Whilst listening to Somewhere Only We Know, my mind wandered and came up with this.
Post-Endgame, Sam and Bucky have gone their own ways. Bucky is isolating himself and Sam if struggling with the effects of Steve’s betrayal and having to take on the shield. Through their grief they come together and support each other, but how long will it take them to realise they’re in love? (Ages, they’re idiots)

This takes place after we leave Sam and Bucky at the end of tfatws, where we see food that gave me cravings and uncle Bucky radiating the biggest bi vibes I’ve ever fucking seen. Sam and Bucky sit at the end of the pier as the sun sets and share some very much “heterosexual” gazes.
Idk, this came to me in a vision and I thought it was cute so here we are I guess
Rustling noises in the classroom brought him up short. He thought he had a good ten to fifteen minutes before anyone else showed up. He peered around the doorframe. He didn't recognize the person moving around the space, unfurling a sheet over the ratty chaise on the dais. It wasn't one of the models who'd been in his classes before. The model turned around and gave him a bright smile, revealing a small — and in Bucky's opinion — utterly charming gap between his teeth. 'Hi. I'm Sam.'
Sam Wilson is partnered with a guy named Jake to complete an assignment for one of his college classes. He hasn't heard from him in a while, so decides to send a text to the number he gave Sam. Turns out it's the wrong number. Though, he doesn't believe the guy texting him back isn't Jake until the guy sends him a selfie (and he's actually hot).

"They say once is an accident, twice is coincidence, and three times is a pattern. If that’s the case, then what does eleven times make? Is that habit, or a relationship?"
When Bucky finds out the guy he hooked up with last Friday is in a frat, he's not happy. Frat guys are the worst. But then he accidentally hooks up with him again... and again.
Only time will tell if Bucky is willing to let his grudges go.

Bucky has a long way to go to fit into the present. As his therapist keeps telling him, recovery isn't a straight road. Sam's insisting on being an annoying part of his life, refusing to let him disappear. He hates it as much as he relies on it. Sam's pretty great for a guy he hates. Maybe hate is a strong word. And it might be untrue. He might actually like him a little. Okay--a lot. But no one needs to know that.
Excerpt: Sam looked nice in his suit, that was a plus. Bucky maybe stared for a second too long, taking in every inch of Sam—ignoring the look Sam gave him when he was caught. Bucky stared at everything. This wasn’t news. Sam could get over it. “Are you always so perky?” Bucky asked, diverting attention from his staring, he’d gotten good at looking as long as he wanted and then starting a fight with Sam to throw him off balance. It was not flirting, he kept telling himself.
