“Lan Zhan?” Xue Yang asks, and looks at him. Recognition dawns, and then his eyes narrow as he shows his teeth. “Wait, that Lan Zhan? The one from your boarding school days, your—”
“Shut up,” Wei Ying snaps, elbowing the shit out of him.

Nearly a decade after Lan Zhan and Wei Ying permanently part ways, they realize there was nothing permanent about it. Their lives don't have room for each other.
