It's Lan Xichen who can't, who begs that the punishment be reduced. It's commuted to three years in exile, to learn the importance of the clan he raised his hand against.
What happens to Lan Wangji, who was asked to get lost by his soulmate and sent away from the protection of the righteous Gusu Lan? Not surprisingly, a lot.

Acting grateful for the favor wasn't even hard because Alfred was definitely looking forward to buying garlic. The odor of it sauteing in the next apartment over had made him crave it.
