Yachi looked up at the ceiling, contemplating. “Was it because he was cute?” The loud thump of Hinata hitting the floor startled Yachi out of thought. “Hinata, are you okay?”
Hinata was sprawled on the floor from where he flailed off the couch. He jumped up grabbing Yachi’s shoulders and shaking her roughly. “Yachi are you crazy? He not cute, he’s the devil! He’s so mean it doesn’t matter if he had nice eyes and hair, his horrible personality cancels out his good looks. He is automatically ugly, a bastard like him doesn’t get to be hot as hell and a jerk!”
Yachi squinted her eyes and pursed her lips, “I get it now.” She supplied easily, settling back into the couch.
Hinata shook his head, “Get what?” -

To Suga’s surprise, Hinata let out a laugh, but it was nothing like the warm, twinkling laugh that often left his lips. This laugh was rough and dry, and filled with every negative emotion Suga could name.“I guess Kageyama hasn’t told you yet?”
Suga was about to reply when Hinata cut him off.“You haven’t heard, Suga-Senpai? I’m a whore, in every sense of the word.”

“Does he even know what he just said, what he did?”Slowly their gazes all turned to Kageyama who was just as shocked as the rest of them. He looked at all of them, head slowly turning to his teammates. And what they saw that day will go down in history as a myth, some story as crazy as bigfoot and alien abductions. The team’s eyes widened, Suga felt faint, glad Daichi was standing behind him, because he might drop at any moment.
Because that was the day, Kageyama Tobio looked up from his feet, face beet red, with the largest, most goofy smile anybody had ever seen from that boy thus far.

Summary
Kageyama Tobio is a professional racing driver, the new rookie sensation who's about to take home the Piston Cup in his first year.
But a race run recklessly leads to an unprecedented three-way tie, and a tie breaker race is set for a week's time. On the way to the International Speedway, Kageyama gets lost, and ends up crashing into Karasuno Springs - a small country town in the middle of nowhere, ruining the main road in the process. Forced to stay and fix it, Kageyama feels the whole thing is a waste of time, until he meets the town's handyman - Hinata Shouyou, a local dirt track racer.
They're very different, but a shared passion for racing draws Kageyama in, as he tries to work out why Hinata is just a handyman in the first place despite his talent for racing; and over the course of the week he ends up discovering that maybe there's more to life than winning races all by himself.
(A racing AU; based on the story of Pixar's Cars, but everybody is human.)
