Summary
Swearing that he could still feel the rusty nail in his back, Dean wakes up in a motel to find Cas alive and well in the shower as though nothing had happened.
That nightmare had felt all too real.

Why does this sound like goodbye?
Because it is.Not if Dean Winchester had anything to say about it.

Summary
The first time Lister propositioned Rimmer, he was drunk, and the hologram had just returned to Red Dwarf a few weeks prior.
Then there was the second time, then the third.
The problem though, was that neither of them would actually talk about what they were doing, the next morning going about their day as though they weren't boning each other on the regular.
But then, Lister was forced to cut back on drinking, leaving them without the pretense for their sexcapades.

Summary
Red Dwarf stumbles upon a massive research station fixed in orbit around a huge interdimensional rift contained by a force field. Inside, a great machine harnesses the power of the rift to open windows into alternate dimensions based on keying in basic search criteria.
Meanwhile, Lister deals with his continuing existential crisis over his supposed responsibility to single-handedly repopulate the human race.
And Rimmer meets someone he had no idea existed, in this or any dimension.

Summary
“We should fuck,” Dean says.
Cas looks up from where he sits on his bed, hair still damp from the shower, frowning as he places a finger on the page of his book to mark where he left off.
There are a million things Cas could say here; Dean has rehearsed them. After lunch, his restlessness had given way to a vague panic, a dread that matched his every step and crept along with him from room to room. Eventually, he had returned to his bedroom and spent the rest of the afternoon pacing back and forth, playing out all the possible scenarios. When Cas asks him Why? or Are you being serious? or when he sighs and says, in that way he has, Dean, he knows exactly what he’s going to do. He’s going to shrug casually, like he isn’t invested in the answer, like he isn’t desperate for an outlet, and say, Why not? He’s going to raise an eyebrow and say, What, are you not interested? He’s going to crowd into Cas’ personal space, he’s going to shove himself right up in there and whisper Cas against his ear.
Instead, Cas says, carefully, “Okay.”

Summary
When Dean imagined this moment, it went like this:
Dean bursts into the Empty—guns blazing, chin high, righteous anger coursing through him. No matter what form his plans and fantasies and whiskey-drunk-whispered-promises took, he is always, always successful. When he imagined it, he was finally the hero Cas deserved.
The reality of the moment is this:
It’s fucking cold.

Bookmarker's Notes
"Jack is hands-off now, of course. Says Cas made the choice to summon the Empty of his own free will and Jack can't mess with that. However, Jack says to Dean. If you're ever looking for reading material. This one is very good. He conjures a musty spellbook out of thin air and holds it out into the space between them.
For a moment Dean is fiercely reminded of a Cas from many years ago, who slanted his eyes at Dean outside a motel and said Just so you understand. Why I can't help."

Summary
Apparently I can't even write a one-shot sex scene without it turning into a 7k slow burn. So... Merry Christmas?
***
"You are a good man, Dean," Cas whispers, his mouth pressed to Dean's heartbeat. "You are so beautiful and good and worthy."
Dean can't take it.
"Cas," he says, and it comes out a plea, a prayer, begging. It's just his name, but it's full of the need for affirmation, for validation, for all the things Dean's not allowed to ask for. All the things he never received when he was younger, all the love and attention he doesn't deserve.
