Summary
Jin Zixuan first met Wei Wuxian when the Yunmeng Jiang sect paid them a visit, accompanying Madam Yu to meet her childhood friend, Madam Jin.
Their first encounter, they decided that they don't like the other. The other misunderstanding while the other values his pride.
Their first words were both hurtful towards the other. The other for insulting someone dear while the other for being looked down upon on.
Their first emotion towards each other were spite. The cause was for both of them being childish, in other people's opinion.
With the Yunmeng Sect leaving, they didn't bother with saying their farewells at each other. For sure, they would never meet again.
That is until Jin GuangShan asked him if he wanted to study at Cloud Recessess. And everything started there.

Jiang Yanli dies with her parents in the attack on Lotus Pier. Jin Zixuan is left to pick up the pieces of what she left behind.
'Lotus Pier was crawling with Wen cultivators. Not a single building had been left untouched, with Qishan’s flag hoisted on the roofs of still standing ones. There were broken swords and dirtied purple cloth on the streets. The once magnificent town had been reduced to dust. Jin Zixuan could still see traces of blood and evidence of battle. It sickened him. Lotus Pier was where he first met Yanli, the place where he found a family he could love without reservations. Lotus Pier was where he learnt to be happy with himself, where he learnt that it was okay to be different, where he learnt that he was not superior just because he was a cultivator. And the Wens had taken less than a day to turn into it into ash.'

Jiang Yanli dies in child birth. Jiang Cheng’s precious nephew, Jin Rulan, is born and not an hour later, Yanli takes her final breath.
The Jins, those monsters, give Jiang Cheng only two weeks to mourn the loss, before they appear at Lotus Pier with a list of demands. The previous arrangement between our Sects was only in effect as long as the Jin Sect heir was married to the Sect leader’s sibling, it says, if you cut out the insidiously polite bullshit. As this is no longer true, we can’t be expected to uphold our promises.
(That’s not what the Jin want though, what they really want is disgustingly obvious.)
Or, Jin Guangshan manages to get Omega!Wei Wuxian married to Jin Zixuan once he's widowed. Wei Wuxian only accepts to keep his nephew (his son, now) safe. There are too many snakes at Koi tower.
