Like so many times before, when it comes to Diluc, it hurts, the way the words roll off his tongue, the way he has to make up for the slack, because, clearly, Kaeya is the only one that never forgets that he’s willing to die with Diluc’s name on his lips, even if he has to take his life himself to guarantee that.
“Get out.”
Diluc flinches. “What?”
“I’m busy, Master Diluc,” Kaeya’s tone is cutting, colder than it’s been ever since he handed Diluc his Vision back. Shock seems to be registering in Diluc’s system, the way it did for Kaeya when he found out he left Mondstadt, left him behind; Kaeya’s never been the one asking this of him, but there’s a first for everything. He needs some space. “I promise to fill you in, but right now, there are more pressing manners in my schedule.”
