Summary
The door once again opened, a familiar face appearing with a weary smile. Remus clenched his jaw tight as Sirius walked through the door. Remus felt a strange pain in his chest as he watched Sirius smile at him and then Harry. He couldn't help but pinch his leg as hard as he could, his eyes not breaking away from Sirius. This was not possible. He had watched him fall. He had seen his face. How hallowed his eyes looked as he slowly fell backwards into the land of the dead. His chest began to tighten again, this had to be some cruel dream.
In which Sirius was not killed in the Department of Mysteries.

Summary
It has been years since the threat of Voldemort and his Death Eaters was defeated, and Sirius has settled into peacetime relatively well; his days a blur of helping out with his beloved godson and making a home with Remus. So maybe it nags at him that things aren't perfect, but perhaps he just isn't seeing the full picture.

Summary
After Sirius's "prank" puts Remus and Snape's life in danger, Remus and Sirius's friendship is as strained as it's ever been. In an attempt to remedy the dark cloud that has settled over the Marauders, James suggests a summer trip to the continent. (Nothing like foreign wizarding communities, exciting foods, expansive art museums, and relaxed drug use policies to bring people closer together.)
It becomes clear, however, that Remus has been holding back his fair share of secrets. And so has Sirius--even if he doesn't know it yet.
