Summary
Falkenheim is located slightly more western than it actually is, meaning the Russians don't get there as quickly as they do. This also means that Captain K and Freddy survive the end of the war.
It's not quite the happy ending people would assume it is as they have outed themselves and are practically biding their time until they get figured out for good. This mainly because the symbols and their meaning only get to become public knowledge a time after the actual war.
Now they bide their time, overcoming the hurdles as they come to them.
Like they've been doing for their entire life.
