Summary
He was so cold. No matter the amount of blankets he tried (and failed) to summon, he would continue to feel like he was freezing over; not that the trembles wracking through his body were due to the cold, mind you. His comforter was wet, and frigid, and he could not shake the feeling that he was supposed to be doing something about that. The room was fuzzy, but that was okay.
He didn’t deserve to see.
A knock at the door broke through the haze. A glimmer of hope immediately wiped out with terrible dread.
‘Not His knock, not His knock, it’s not Him please don’t be Him—‘
A second knock. A voice, unintelligible and garbled, yet somehow familiar. It repeats. It is not Him. It is not Him. It is not.
‘No matter. They can’t get in. The door is locked.'
Footsteps fade from the fog. He continues to shiver. After Remus' first appearance, Deceit expected everything to improve, which it did. He had his routine, he had Remus, he had acquaintances with which he shared the same living space. Of course, this new normal unravels when Patton joins the picture.
