    Summary

The water is just the right side of hot, and his hands are soft on her skin.
Rivulets of dirt and blood-stained soapy water run over his fingers, down her arm and into the bath. She watches as the grime starts to disappear, as he adjusts his gentle grip to turn over her hand and clean the other side.
It becomes easy to settle into the repetitive motions, to let her mind drift away and empty of everything but the feeling of being cleansed and the heavy, dark quiet of exhaustion.

Jaskier helps Yennefer take a bath. Annoyingly, some feelings are felt in the process.

    Summary

When Geralt is a young witcher, he loves to sing. Love songs and ballads and ridiculous little ditties, it doesn't matter. He delights in using his voice, in making beautiful music. But then he's given the "gift" of jewels falling from his mouth whenever he speaks. A gift that kings would kill for. Would certainly hurt a lowly mutant for.

He doesn't much like to sing, after that.

    Summary

At the edge of the village, in a house surrounded by wild-flowers and weeds - re-built from its former crumbling foundations – there lived the Old Man.

He’d earnt the rights for the capital O, capital M off of the rest of the villagers barely a week after he’d moved into their humble world. For he had not grown up here, like everyone else did.

Yet he settled and settled as if he had always been there. He wandered the cliffsides, the beaches, the streets. He strung shells together and gifted them to the ladies of the village with a wink that betrayed the charming young man he once must have been. He bought the little ceramic pots Alicja sold on the market, and he filled them with weeds as if the weeds were flowers worth showcasing.

And – most importantly – he sang.

"Your song about the ghost, then," Maja asks warily. "It's just metaphorical, right?"
"Yes, of course, absolutely metaphorical," Jaskier brightly assures her. "No ghosts here."
Jaskier's favorite painting falls to the ground.
    "Bollocks."

    Summary

The sorceress levels him with a stern look that he returns defiantly, keeping his chin raised and his eyes trained on hers. It hits her then, who this child reminds her so thoroughly of, and she feels a wave of exasperation followed by giddy glee at the fate that befell the bard before her. If her hunch is correct, then the child is none other than the Master Bard Jaskier.

When Yennefer comes across a seven-year-old Jaskier, filthy and starving in the woods, she takes him back to Kaer Morhen to help him recover and also figure out who cursed the bard and how to fix it before it's too late and he's stuck reliving his entire life.
