"Wei Ying is very good at growing things," Lan Zhan says and takes his hands, uncaring of the dirt. Wei Wuxian knows enough now to let him, knows enough that it is something Lan Zhan wants, almost needs, to stain his hands with Wei Wuxian like this.
And then later, as their scents mingle with each other's - Sandalwood and pine and lotus blooms, like a place where the mountains meet water, Lan Zhan splays his fingers across Wei Wuxian's stomach, whispers softly into the slope of his shoulders.

Summary
When Wei Wuxian fell at Nightless City he was, unknowingly to him, brought back in time to when Wen Chao pushed him into the Burial Mounds. Believing himself to be dead, and this afterlife to be some sort of punishment, he resigns himself to a painful existence. Until Lan Zhan and Jiang Cheng rescue him, and he realises he has a chance to change things for the better - if he hasn't messed everything up already.
