    Summary

Bucky Barnes is a poet, patriot, and veteran wandering in search of the source of the visions that have plagued him since before the war. Bucky’s dreams are consumed with visitations by a Great Dragon, haloed in sun and cloaked in stars. When he wakes he can only describe what he sees and feels in snippets of desperate poetry. As he journeys closer and closer to the Great Dragon, his fear of the Old God gives way to something else entirely.

    Summary

One moment Steve stood listening to Fury talk some nonsense to deceive the bugs apparently everywhere in Steve’s apartment, and the next moment a door opened where there hadn’t been a door before. In the doorway stood a figure, outlined in the fluorescent light pouring out from behind it. Steve made out arms, legs, a head, but around those were....other limbs, squirming and curling. His head ached when he tried to count them, perhaps three, perhaps twenty. His eyes shied away from understanding the sight of them, at once glowing with an oil-slick rainbow of colors while also being the same empty blackness of endless space.

The figure looked hard at Steve, meeting his eyes over a face-mask. The eyes were the same as those awful limbs, simultaneously a bright, mesmerizing gold and also holes into a place with no light at all.

“Okay,” Tony says. “Okay, okay. This is fine. This is a mission, should you choose to accept, I accept, let’s do this.”

“You’re drunk,” Steve says muzzily, though not without an element of hypocrisy because he too is very drunk. “What’re we doin?” Then his meandering thoughts go right back to Bucky, and he sighs again. “He’s just so –” he says on yet another exhale, and makes a totally incomprehensible hand movement, and feels slightly like he might cry with trying to find a word that properly describes his new roommate.

“Yes,” Tony says. “That. We’re going to calculate your chances that he wants to bone you, and then we’re going to calculate how it’s going to be done. For science!” he tries to yell, and falls off his chair.

    Summary

The three basic things you need for a valid contract are: offer and acceptance, intention to be bound, and valuable consideration. These rules apply whether you're selling a house, a car...or a soul.

Steve was a law student. He didn't need to take Latin, but he'd gotten the strange notion into his head that it'd give him a deeper understanding of the law. One mistranslated assignment later and he'd accidentally offered to sell his soul to a demon named Bucky. Steve had no intention of selling his soul, but Bucky kept showing up and offering him different kinds of valuable consideration: fame, wealth, success, the usual things you'd expect in this sort of situation.

Steve didn't want any of it.

The only problem was, Steve was starting to want something from Bucky...but it had nothing to do with valuable consideration and everything to do with Bucky.

    Summary

Bucky didn't want much. Just to keep his head down, to sell his scavenged flowers in peace, and to stay off Shield's radar. His life would have been a lot easier if his flowers weren't dead and if being a necromancer wasn't illegal, but easy or not, he was getting by. Steve didn't want much, either. He was happy working for Shield, he had good friends, and overall his life was going just about the way he wanted it. Problem was, being happy with your life was generally an invitation for fate to throw a spanner in the works—and in Steve's specific case, it was going to be a spanner named Bucky.

(A love story about flowers, trust, and magic and the choices we make about doing what's right.)
