Stan Uris had never been quite like the other boys that were his age.
Other boys who were sixteen were usually very obnoxious, meaning they did things like talking loudly in the hallways and slapping their friends to say hello. They also talked a lot during classes, were rude to the teachers, and this led to those boys getting yelled at said teachers to go to the principle’s office. They dated any girl that came their way, and they also went to parties where they got drunk, high, or where they had sex. They crowded tables at lunch to talk loudly about sports, girls, and their latest one night stands. They talked back to their parents, were just genuinely annoying, and still somehow got anything they wanted.
Stan never saw the appeal to any of those things, and neither did the other Losers. The blonde personally preferred to stay at home and read rather than go to a party.

And there was another thing, Richie was sure he couldn’t live his life without Eddie Kaspbrak. And that fact was just a part of his life; it was like common sense to him. He just… always knew he couldn’t live without Eddie by his side.
But then, Eddie was being tugged away by his mom and shoved into the little car.
Richie was silent. His mind was screaming at himself to do something, anything, but the car was already driving away, and Eddie was gone.
