Summary
Nico Di Angelo has lived all his life as an outcast, and that’s probably because he has wanted it to be that way (being the son of Hades doesn’t help either, though).
However, after the Second Giant War, he is kind of forced to stay in the infirmary under the care of Will Solace, a son of Apollo that Nico didn’t like very much since he saw him again in the middle of the fight.
Is his period in the infirmary going to change his opinion of Will? After all, that demigod had brought back to life those skeletal butterflies that had died as soon as Nico accepted that he and Percy weren’t meant to be…
No. It was better not to think about it and wait to see what happens next, right?

“Theo Altman,” Emma said smugly.
Billy stared at the pictures in his hands. He tried to speak, couldn’t, then moistened his suddenly dry lips with the tip of his tongue. “… he’s the jeans guy.”
“Calvin’s current campaign model, yes. I had lunch with his agent last week.” Emma studied her nails critically, as though Billy wasn’t gaping at her and Tommy snickering from his place on the couch.
“Altman wants to make the jump into film, you need a date to get rid of the ‘fake gay’ buzz. You take him to some parties, introduce him around to the people he needs to know, and make sure the paparazzi manage a few flattering shots of you staring dreamily into each other’s eyes. Then you have a sad breakup, we announce that you’d like the press to respect your privacy, and everything goes back to normal.” She waved airily. “Dead simple, even you could pull it off.”

“Whoa, whoa,” a low voice cried. The horse snorted, and Billy heard the soft thud of hooves hitting the earth alarmingly close to where he was standing. It was so close, he could feel the muffled reverberations in the packed earth. Then, “Oh my God, are you okay?”
No, he wanted to shout. He was trembling all over, knees actually shaking. Billy slowly dropped his arm and dared to blink open his eyes. He looked up—and up—and up—until he met those blue eyes, just as open and bright as the whole damned Big Sky country in a face that was, oh God yes, really incredibly handsome. The sharp words dried on his tongue; the fear drained away. He could actually feel his brain derail. Holy crap, that was one hot cowboy. “Um,” Billy said stupidly. “I. Yeah. I think…yeah. Hi.”
“I am so sorry,” Hot Cowboy said. “I am so, so unbelievably sorry.”
“No, hey, it’s fine,” Billy quickly assured him. “No harm done. Um. Nice horse.”
Nice horse? He fought the urge to cover his face with his hands.

Summary
Healing is not a linear process, as Nico will learn. For every two steps forward, you’ll take one step back. Nico is sick of being taken advantage of, afraid of being abandoned, and never seems to be free of his tendency to fall victim to others’ manipulation and maltreatment.
Will’s repressed emotions will threaten to get the best of him. Beneath his calm and friendly façade is someone hardened by guilt, a fear of inadequacy, and a deep-seated resentment for the people who have let him down.Growing up is a journey. You will struggle with your identity, your relationships, and your values. As children thrown to the wolves before you were ready to defend yourselves, as children scarred so deeply both inside and out, you will find that taking comfort in others can sometimes be the key to ultimately finding contentment with who you are.
No journey is meant to be travelled alone.
