Pops didn’t conceal his disgust. He called the disease a pathetic ailment, said anybody who suffered from it was weak, and even worse were the people who lost their lives to it. Thing was, even when the man himself started showing the symptoms, his words were burnt into Chisaki’s mind.
Weak. Pathetic.

Summary
Touya knows his father’s fire better than anyone, and he knows his own. He knows he could open the door and burn his father, and burn down the whole damn house, and watch the pretty blue turn everything to ash and give him some release. But there’s the pain. His wrists are bandaged, as they have been for the better part of a year. They’re not entirely necessary at this point. The burns have healed, but they’ve left behind ugly scars that remind him of the thing coiled up inside of him, of the fact that he wasn’t good enough, of his weakness and his fears and of Enji’s brutal demands. So bandages it is.
No fire. No shades of pretty blue. No ashes.
Just bandages.

Summary
Shinsou Hitoshi, despite what life liked to throw at him, was not impulsive.
He kept to himself, only used his quirk in self-defense, never stayed anywhere long enough to arouse suspicion, and generally did his best to stay out of trouble.
After all, the last thing he wanted was to be caught and sent back to that group home. As much as he missed the stability of school, and as close as he’d been to the entrance exams for high school when he’d finally escaped, he did at some point have to return to his so-called ‘foster parents,’ every day. To say the streets were better was an understatement.
Therefore, it would have been the wiser thing to just keep walking when he saw her. The little girl was filthy and wearing something that could barely be recognized as clothing, barefoot, and her face was tearstained. More tears were falling through the clear panic as she stumbled and wove her way through the crowd. Everyone else saw an uncomfortable situation and decided to ignore it. They did the sensible thing and left it for someone else.
Hitoshi had always dreamed of being a hero, though.
